Description
This little antique French confit pot is in the traditional yellow colour and made of earthenware with small handles at the top. It’s size makes it unusual, you don’t see many of the small ones! These pots were used in many different ways in a French country kitchen. Most often they were used for preserving meat such as duck confit, or other foods that needed to be preserved. The pots were buried in the ground of French cellars to keep them cool. We found this beautiful little pot near Montpellier in the South of France and it would be lovely in a kitchen or as a characterful display piece.
